On Tuesday April 12, the IESO held an LRP engagement webinar. Members of BEARAT, as well as North Frontenac Mayor Ron Higgins participated and submitted questions. If you missed the webinar, you can listen to the full presentation and question and answer session below. Please be patient, the audio track is large and will load and start within a minute of pressing play. The webinar presentation slides are also available here.
The online survey has also been posted on the LRP engagement page and can be accessed until May 3, 2016. We strongly encourage you to use this opportunity to voice concerns and give opinions about the LRP process and community outreach.
Some key takeaways from the webinar include:
- There will be no LRP 3. We just need to win this next round.
- The Liberals have asked for 600 MW of wind in LRP 2 (the current round), instead of the initially proposed 300 MW
- BEARAT co-chair Dan Carruthers asked if the Community Engagements (including Council) engagements that the proponents submitted in LRP 1 could be recycled for LRP 2 and they said no. It's a new round.
